President's Letter

Your Electric League has been very busy since New Year’s Day. The Trade Show Committee, chaired by Doug Carlson, is working overtime to be certain that we have a wonderfully successful show. Don’t forget to mark your calendars - April 6 - 7 at the new Overland Park Convention Center. And please tell your customers about the show. Signing up is easy and can be done on the League’s website, www.electricleague.org.

This month we’re featuring one of the many busy and effective committees that keep your League running. We would like to present The Golf Committee, ably being chaired by Pam Lickteig. The Golf Committee meets, at least, every other month to plan and organize the two golf outings League sponsors every year. The committee researches the many courses available in the greater Kansas City area. And with the best interest of the League in mind, chooses a location that will be fun to play, cordial to our group, and the best value for the money. The committee spends time organizing the outing and obtaining sponsorships for each tournament.

We want to thank Pam and her committee: John Guerdan, John Dussold, Chuck Engelmann, Steve Tiesing, Peter Kurtz, Chris Lacy and Vince Migliazzo for the excellent job they’ve done and the money they’ve raised to help the League succeed. They’re looking forward to seeing all of you at the Spring Outing on May 13.

If you’d like to volunteer for a committee, contact Jane or Kim at the League office or myself or any of your board members. Volunteers keep this organization on the right track.

Deanna Rudd,
President

Electrical and Data Products Expo - The Place to Be in April

The 22nd Triennial Trade Show of the Electric League of Missouri & Kansas is just around the corner - set for April 6-7 at the Overland Park Convention Center. The show is always the place to be with more than 1,100 people attending the most recent show in 2002. Attendees included architects, engineers, contractors, industrial and utility management and government personnel.
The Overland Park Convention Center is the area’s newest state-of-the-art meeting facility with many wonderful amenities to help you stay in touch while you are away from the office including the Cyber-Café where you can enjoy your favorite coffee beverage while checking in with the office. The beautiful decor of this venue makes it like no other in the Kansas City area.

Partner With BICSI
The League is partnering with BICSI and offering, at an additional charge to attendees, DD100: Introduction to Voice/Data Cabling Systems. This two-day course will provide 14 hours of RCDD; Installer, Level 2; Technician; Residential Installer continuing education credit. This special course offering is expected to draw architects, general contractors, electrical inspectors and building facility managers from the area to the Electrical and Data Products Expo. The seminar is scheduled so the attendees can visit the trade show when the course is finished for the day.

Exhibit Hours
Wednesday, April 6, 2 - 8 p.m.
Thursday, April 7, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

These exhibitors have committed to display at the Show. There are a few booths still available. If you are interested in a trade show booth, please contact Jane Male at the League office (816) 561-5323.
