NEWS - February, 2005
Titles:
Your Electric League has been very busy since New Year’s Day. The Trade Show Committee, chaired by Doug Carlson, is working overtime to be certain that we have a wonderfully successful show. Don’t forget to mark your calendars - April 6 - 7 at the new Overland Park Convention Center. And please tell your customers about the show. Signing up is easy and can be done on the League’s website, www.electricleague.org.
This month we’re featuring one of the many busy and effective committees that keep your League running. We would like to present The Golf Committee, ably being chaired by Pam Lickteig. The Golf Committee meets, at least, every other month to plan and organize the two golf outings League sponsors every year. The committee researches the many courses available in the greater Kansas City area. And with the best interest of the League in mind, chooses a location that will be fun to play, cordial to our group, and the best value for the money. The committee spends time organizing the outing and obtaining sponsorships for each tournament.
We want to thank Pam and her committee: John Guerdan, John Dussold, Chuck Engelmann, Steve Tiesing, Peter Kurtz, Chris Lacy and Vince Migliazzo for the excellent job they’ve done and the money they’ve raised to help the League succeed. They’re looking forward to seeing all of you at the Spring Outing on May 13.
If you’d like to volunteer for a committee, contact Jane or Kim at the League office or myself or any of your board members. Volunteers keep this organization on the right track.
Deanna Rudd,
President

Even though the weather service is predicting snow for today, it’s not too early to plan for the spring Electric League golf outing. This year the first League golf outing of the season will be at Prairie Highlands Golf Course in Olathe, Kan. The outing is set for May 13 with an afternoon shotgun start.
Prairie Highlands is located just west of Olathe and caters to all playing abilities with four tee boxes that allow the course to be played from 7,200 yards from the back tees, to 5,100 yards from the front tees. The area’s beauty was built into this course as the designers used what was available to them to offer golfers a unique experience. With short trips from green to tee, this classic layout welcomes walkers.
Mark your calendar and plan to join Electric League members and guests at Prairie Highlands Golf Course, Friday, May 13.
Plan Now to Attend The Eddy Awards Luncheon
The Electric League will hold its annual Eddy Awards Safety Luncheon April 29 at the Radisson Hotel Lenexa-Overland Park. The hotel is located at 95th Street and I-35.
The luncheon will feature the presentation of the Eddy Awards to elementary/middle school and high school age students for their winning safety video entries. The winning videos will also be shown at the luncheon. Last year’s video entries were highly entertaining and this year promises to be just as good. The Eddy Awards program is sponsored by the Electric League and Time Warner Cable Company through their Cable in the Classroom program.
Registration for the luncheon will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch served at 11:30. Mark your calendar today to attend this unique luncheon.
Please welcome these new members who have joined, or rejoined in some cases, the Electric League since Nov. 1, 2004.
Electric League Backs Senate Bill 33

be positive in the relationship between general contractors and
subcontractors. The League is asking members to contact Kansas State
Senators on the Commerce Committee and urge their support of the bill. Key
Senators to contact include:
